So, guys, what are you reading now?
Anything in English?

As for me, I am reading trying to start reading 'The Dune' and listening to 'P.S. I love you' in an audiobook version.
Plus - yeah - I keep reading too many blogs, which slowly kills my English. Because the most common words in my vocabulary now are "sucks", "awesome", etc.
It seems like I REALLY forgot all the proper synonyms of "it sucks".

I started to read "The picture of Dorian Gray" about a year ago. Still in process! :gigi:

I think we need tags "question", "game", maybe something like "book review" - if someone wants to write about a book he/she read.

I'm reading too many books at once:
book 2 of Temeraire series by Naomi Novik (AU/fantasy, the language is AMAZING), book 3 of Enchanted series by Shanna Swendson (chicklit), book 4 of Immortal series and book 2 of Circle of Magic series byTamora Pierce (fantasy), book 4 of Temperance Brennan series by Kathy Reichs (crime novel, gory and gross sometimes, impossibly beautiful in other places), American Gods by Nail Gaiman (magical reality?.. plot is rather difficult to follow)...
And now I feel like I'm showing off... which I swear I'm not. I just don't think anyone read these.

hahaha, I used to read 5-6 books simultaneously last year, I know how it feels))
As for Neil Gaiman, i love (no, L-O-V-E) his "Anansi boys" novel in a format of audiobook. Narrator is a voice genius. Highly recommend it.

By the way, check out our reading challenge community, Вызов 999. Maybe, you'll find it interesting.

"Anansi boys" novel in a format of audiobook.
Thanks for the rec, I shall try it.

Interesting indeed, although for me challenge is not reading books, but finding books I would want to read - I'm very particular about reading right book at the right time. Hence the long currently-reading list, actually - waiting for the right mood to finish reading the ones I started.

small_q But how can you know what is the rights book for your current period of time? I mean, before you read a book.

Well, lately Wikipedia helps a lot. I know that I want to read "something like that", so I go to author's page and look at the categories, searching for description that will catch my eye.
I also read blogs of people who enjoy tellng others of good books they've read - such as Sarah Rees Brennan's, who is a writer herself and avid reader as well. It helps if yours and person's views on a good book are close - it's hard to trust a stand-alone review or a review from someone who phraised something you hated.
Goodreads' helps me keep track of books I didn't grab right away upon stumbling on a recommendation and they have lists of books for searching purposes.
I perused Вызов 999's reviews list as well, opening those with books I've read or planned to read and reading the whole post - grabbed a whole series and couple of books I liked.

I have quite a solid system, if I can say so for myself :)

"Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open." - Sir James Dewer
I'm reading an original story taking place in prison. It's incredibly interesting, has a lot of violence and things that make me cry but, to tell the truth, I like drama fiction (in case, there is a plot and vivid characters as well, of course).
The book is in English that makes me feel totally happy because I'm improving the language as well as taking pleasure. There is that funny quote: 'Reading fanfics makes my English good.' Well, this story I'm talking about, is not a fanfic but is non-fiction, and not everybody will like it if they take a look. Besides, it has a homosexual-relationships as well)) But I do like it and don't give a toss if someone thinks only classic is the best. :gigi:

I've recently come across a book entitled “Looking For Alaska”. Well, not the book itself, but its author live on BlogTV. He seemed to be an interesting man and a nerdy nerd, so I think I will enjoy the book. It's not available in Russian yet (damn, you always need to make a movie out of it to get adaptations worldwide). so I'll have to rub my teeth with this modern American english language *nagging*

Oh yeeeah, I love it. Coz I love John Green, hahaha))
But what I really, really, really loved and enjoyed to the bit is new John's book, "Will Grayson, Will Grayson". It's simply brilliant! And makes you laugh every 5 seconds. Highly, HIGHLY recommend that one.
